The pilings and the pile driver were expected to arrive this afternoon, hopefully to set up and be ready to drive pilings in the morning. But this is Belize. Maybe tomorrow. And I'm on Belize Time. I'm enjoying a nice light rain, comfortable temperatures and a little jazz music in the background. This is the life.
I went out this morning and hit a few golf balls. Started with 20 golf balls and ended with 17. I don't have any idea how the other three got lost, the golf course is pretty flat and only a few palm trees. But then again, that is my style of golf. That's OK, I'm sure I'll find them later. No worries.
Hipolito finally got a hold of me. Everything is OK, but they are holding his boat hostage at Customs. Seems he needs some sort of an import sticker and a signature from an official in Belmopan. Of course, when he drove out there, the official wasn't there. But, he may be there tomorrow, Belizian time, of course. In the mean time, it's $10US storage fee, per day. He wants to get to Belmopan as quickly as possible, to get this cleared up. Hipolito is trying to get out of here by Saturday or Sunday, but can't until this is done, and the boat is out of Customs.
He looked quite relaxed today, even with the boat problem. It doesn't take long to get into Belize Time. I know he's not looking forward to work, but even a little time down here can recharge the batteries.
Our new neighbor next door, Jason, showed me how to use Skype to make telephone calls back to the US at a fraction of the cost of regular service. BTL, the local telephone monopoly, tries to block Skype in every way. Nice to be a monopoly. Hummm.....reminds me of the old AT&T. But everyone here has figured out a way to get around it.
I reached a couple of milestones in my blog. For the first time, I had a hundred views in one day and on that same day I also reached one thousand views since I started counting, just a month ago. Click on the flag counter to see some of the amazing stats. How are you finding my site? I have some friends and others that I know visit the site, but I average about twenty five new visitors a day. It's not Googling, Belize. I tried that and I'm not in the first twenty pages. I also tried Googling my name (but an awful lot of you would have to be looking for me) and I'm still ten pages back. I know some of you come from Dave and Diannas' site, http://www.winjama.blogspot.com/, but I don't think that accounts for all the new visits. Leave a comment and tell me how you found my site. I'd be interested.

I found you, well because you are with my dad.... and thanks for adding the little bits about him, my mom really worries, so to hear that he is doing good, is great news..
